The photographer Manuel Álvarez Diestro captures the least-known image of Cairo's architectural legacy by focusing on brutalist structures of the last century. In composing the shots he presents the buildings in a context of abandonment and marginality. For this project he drew inspiration from his knowledge and admiration of the work of Erno Goldfinger, in particular the 1950s Trellick and Balfron Towers in London.
