Le Corbusier said that architecture is a problem solved in the floor plan; a sentence which the algorithm recently launched by Wallgren Arkitekter and BOX has completed in this manner: architecture is a problem that is solved through the floor plan, but not necessarily by architects. Indeed, here is a parametric tool that, by means of a three-dimensional interface with Grasshopper and Rhino software, makes it possible to draw up floor plans in a supposedly optimal way, in accordance with area available, with program, and with regulations in force. The question to pose is whether this helps architects or constitutes a step towards the demise of their profession.
