3rd International Congress

Necessary

31/05/2014

“Not the old, not the new, but the necessary.” Tatlin’s famous line is the motto of the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad’s third international architecture congress in Pamplona, slated for the 11th, 12th, and 13th of June. The two previous events focussed on austerity and solidarity as weapons for battling crisis. This time the emphasis is on the necessary in architeture, in two senses: necessary as opposed to iconic excesses, and necessary as against those who write architecture off as something dispensable. Leading architects from different countries are gathering for the purpose, among them Ingels, Perrault, Rich, Guyer, Herreros, Mangado, and Siza.
