The artist Edoardo Tresoldi (Cambiago, 1987) is the founder and creative director of Studio Studio Studio, a new interdisciplinary lab that seeks to create cultural hybdrids. The recently dedicated installation called Gharfa is part of Diriyah Oasis, a temporary leisure and entertainment project in the Saudi capital conceived by Designlab Experience. For Gharfa, Edoardo Tresoldi worked with fellow Italians: the designer Alberonero, the musician Max Magaldi, and the garden designer Matteo Foschi of Odd Garden Studio. Drawing from local ruins, Tresoldi’s large-scale wire-mesh sculpture is 26 meters tall and includes a fire-recreating video installation and greenery that Matteo Foschi selected. Alberonero designed an installation whose semi-transparent fabric symbolizes a journey to the void. Max Magaldi’s sound narration comprises independent but interconnected musical segments, in such a way that it can only be heard in its entirely from the center of the structure.
