In counterpoint with previous series, which were thought out chronologically and with abundant images, Luis Fernández-Galiano explores another way of communicating architecture, one where the capacity to evoke and weave connections is entrusted to the word. Hence, almost a thousand articles are orchestrated in four series of nine books apiece, in a modular sequence which distributes the principal themes that have marked his career as a critic and editor. We have announced them as they have appeared, one at a time, but Portraits, Masters, Debates, and Assessments now come together in a single slipcase that condenses the concerns and aspirations of the discipline.
