A brainchild of Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson and concocted by the perfumer Nuria Cruelles, the Home Scents collection presents essences in candles, wax candleholders, home fragrances, and rattan diffusers, all made in Spain.
Extracted from a variety of botanical sources – honeysuckle, beetroot, juniper berry, tomato leaves, coriander, liquorice, marijuana, pea flower, oregano, cypress balls, and ivy – the smells evoke Jonathan Anderson’s childhood and travels.
Impeccably fusing essence, design, and touch, the candles come in three sizes in grooved terracotta vessels inspired by a 5th century BC Greek mug, and the wax candelabra take from 14th-century French style.
Erwan Frontin’s images for the packaging of the products show the plants and inspirations behind the series, and draw from the photomechanical prints by Kazumo Ogawa (1860-1929) that document Japan’s flora.
The scents are sold in selected Loewe boutiques and in perfumesloewe.com and loewe.com (photos: Nacho Alegre)
