Founded in 1925 in Struer (Denmark), the audio-and-visual-electronics company Bang & Olufsen, presents the Beolab 28, system of flexible wireless speakers that combines advanced acoustic solutions with smart functions, offering a high-resolution, studio-grade immersive surround sound.
The listener literally feels the low notes thanks to a built-in custom-designed 6.5” woofer, which fires downward for a powerful high-precision base. Bang & Olufsen’s latest in Active Room Compensation adapts bass response to the room, so the speakers can be placed anywhere you like. With its meticulous design, Beolab 28 can be mounted on the wall, saving floor space. Beolab 28 continues the classical column form used in the Beolab Penta, Beopab 6000, and Beolab 8000 models, all of which remain in the Bang & Olufsen catalog, proving the firm’s commitment to timeless design and quality sound. With moving curtains activated automatically when the speaker is switched on or the beam is adjusted, Beolab 28 is a pair of column-shaped speakers which curve at their low ends, on cones that contain the woofers (loudspeakers designed to reproduce low frequencies), keeping the wires out of sight.
Easy to set up and in no time, Beolab 28 synchronizes the speakers at 24bits/48kHz in microseconds. An integrated music system enables users to answer their phones and hear their callers on the loudspeakers. Using Airplay 2, Chromecast, or Bluetooth, you can stream to Beolab 28 and listen to music in a room or let it be heard everywhere in your home. Through automatic updating of the software, the speakers will be fully compatible with Beollink Multiroom by autumn 2021. Beolab 28 can also be paired up with a Bang & Olufsen television set through Powerlink or Wireless Powerlink. Bang & Olufsen gives importance to longevity, so the speaker incorporates a module designed to absorb updates in performance and function capacity for several years. Whenever the technology for connectivity and transmission becomes obsolete, the module itself can be replaced for a newer one, but the actual speaker has a longer life cycle.
