Harvard announced the winner of the 13th Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design: the High Line in New York, a park over an old railway line, a work of the multidisciplinary team formed by James Corner Field Operations, Diller Scofidio Renfro, and Piet Oudolf. Created in 1986, the university’s 350th anniversary, the award – the world’s most important for urban planning – highlights sustainable spaces that contribute to building the public sphere of cities and improving the quality of urban life. The High Line succeeds Madrid Rio, the riverside linear park designed by Burgos and Garrido.
