On view through 8 October 2023 at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona is a site-specific art installation by Oscar Abraham Pabón. The Venezuelan architect and artist analyzes the symmetrical surfaces that form the pavilion and draws a parallel with the figures that the psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach (1884-1922) created by folding a piece of paper with an ink stain at the center, using this as a method to evaluate and diagnose the person looking at it, in accordance with what they saw. The same happens with a wall raised on the pond of the pavilion, built with baked earth bricks. The drawing carved with different depths generates an ‘inkblot’ that is reflected on the water.
