Expanding the research on urban space and architecture, the work of the photographer Olivo Barbieri (Carpi, Modena, 1954) proposes a different analysis of the concept of perception, one that questions our capacity to see and interpret reality. Barbieri is a pioneer of the tilt-shift photography technique, where tilting the lens’s angle produces a blurry frame that simulates the shallow depth of field effect in macro or miniature photographs. Through this form of perception he seeks creating a personal narration.
