Alicante Local Council Offices
The jury of the Young Architects’Exhibition, which is organized by the Fundación Antonio Camuñas every two years, sifted through 95 works, in this fifth edition of the prize, selecting 10 for the final exhibition. They are: a social housing development in Santiponce, by Morales and Sánchez; two residential towers in Fuenlabrada, by Juan Ignacio Mera; the cultural center of Garganta de los Montes, by Domouso, Garrido and Rodríguez; a house in Pinar de Alba, by Alonso and Acebo; the renovation of another in Fragoselo, by Irisarri and Piñera; a trade fair pavilion in Zamora, by Fraile and Revillo; the church Santa Maria de la Fe in Madrid, by Calleja, López and Ridruejo; the access pavilion to the Fageda de Jordà, by Aranda, Pigem and Vilalta; the military command post for the port of Cartagena, by Lejarraga and Burgos; and the offices for the Alicante Local Council, by García Solera and Payá. The latter project received a special mention because of the authors’ exacting exercise of capitalizing on the limited space and natural light in the infill site, and for its formal sobriety and constructive rigor.
