Women in Design

From 1900 to Present


As designers of furniture, of industrial or fashion products, as interior architects or entrepreneurs, women have made decisive and lasting contributions to modern design, and impulsed its evolution. However, in history books they appear less often than men. The current exhibitions ‘Spot On: Women Designers in the Collection’ and ‘Here We Are! Women in Design 1900–Today’ are part of a Vitra project that aims to highlight their work.
