The recipients of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards were announced on 21 May. These are among the most high-profile prizes in the profession, and the year 2019 has reaped a total of twenty-five recognitions in sixteen countries of the continent, including three in Spain: the preservation of the Lithica Quarry of s’Hostal in Ciutadella de Menorca, with its unique mineral formations; the restoration of the Oratory of the Partal Palace and the adjacent House of Astasio de Bracamonte, two valuable buildings within the Alhambra complex of Granada; and the conservation of the Portal of Glory of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
