The Time of Ash: Chronicle 2021
The second pandemic year began with the horror of seeing the United States Capitol invaded by a multitude rejecting the results of the presidential elections, and ends with a sixth viral wave caused by a more contagious new variant named Omicron. In between the political jolt and the health debacle there has been a succession of geopolitical convulsions related to the rise of China, the renewed aplomb of Russia, and the retreat of the West, while the climate crisis continues to run its course without generating sufficient global response, in a planet on the alert in the face of the magnitude and unpredictability of tectonic movements, which in Spain found symbolic example with the eruption of a volcano on La Palma and the unanimous spread of a blanket of ash on the island.
