Living Nature
The texts compiled here sum up four decades of interest in the natural world, from the human body to places of intimacy to ecological constructions and the climate in mutation. In a zoom from the skin to the planet, the first section takes us through the private spaces where the body and life are tangled up, and ventures into the domestic realm, its indomitable interiors, and the primitive fires where food is cooked and warmth given; the second looks into the use of natural energy sources in buildings and cities, contributing to sustainability, and defends urban density as an instrument of social and environmental responsibility; and the third tries to address the great challenges that climate change and the lack of global governance are imposing on the inhabitants of a planet threatened by human doings, and looks to scientific advances for solutions that can help us passengers of Spaceship Earth.
