La vida entre paréntesis. Una crónica de 2020
The Twenties of the 21st century have started under the sign of the virus, and this chronicle of the decade’s first bars comprises thirty texts published in AV/Arquitectura Viva in the course of the year 2020. From the first alarms raised in Wuhan to the feat of the vaccines, the articles in this book –printed in Spanish only, in 80 pages and soft cover– explore the health emergency and the stoppage of globalization that it caused, along with the impact of lockdowns and interpersonal distancing, to venture into the consequences of this planetary convulsion on territories, cities, or housing. The month-by-month stock-taking of this ominous year is complemented by a broader view of ongoing debates in the fields of thought, politics, economics, or history, aesthetic polemics and ecological approaches, to close with brief portraits of contemporary architects that suggest new paths in the discipline’s relationship with art, technique, or society.
