El desorden que viene. Chronicle 2024
These three dozen texts sketch a chronicle of 2024. The first twenty-four take stock of the year’s major themes, from the prolonged Ukraine and Gaza wars to the Valencia floods and Trump’s reelection, and cover some intellectual debates through reviews of a handful of books. The other twelve are four obituaries on Kurt Forster, Manuel Melis Maynar, Antonio Fernández-Alba, and Joseph Rykwert; four preambles to monographs on contemporary architects: Tham & Videgård, Níall McLaughlin, Arquitectura-G, and Miralles Tagliabue EMBT; and four portraits of figures written in line with different occasions: the centenaries of Rafael de La-Hoz and José María García de Paredes, the induction of Miguel Aguiló into Spain’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and the publication in Spain of the latest book by Kenneth Frampton.
