AV Proyectos 2x1
AV Proyectos joined the AV/Arquitectura Viva family twenty years ago. To mark the occasion, it is presented now with updated graphics and an approach adapted to the reality of architects, with more articles and works and a greater emphasis on construction.
Issue 121 carries in ‘Portfolio’ a cover feature on robotics and an interview with Antón García-Abril and Débora Mesa from Ensamble Studio. Our ‘Proposals’ and ‘Process' sections collect the proposals for the future Madruelo Museum in Cáceres, and the development process of four parkings by Christian Kerez in Bahrain. Cultural news continues to be present in the section ‘Perspective,’ dedicated here to the design pioneer Miguel Milá.
Issue 122 deals with material scarcity, a topic on the agenda illustrated here in a journey through seven projects in the Global South that stand out for their creativity in contexts with limited resources. In relation to this concern, the magazine includes an interview with Fernanda Canales, in which she talks about how this challenge has influenced the architectural designs of her recent projects on the Mexican border. The issue also features the competition for the extension of the Gothenburg Museum of Art and the refurbishment of Las Atarazanas in Seville, by Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra. The cultural section opens with the latest intervention of the Korean artist Kimsooja, who has covered the Rotunda of the Bourse de Commerce in Paris with mirrors.
