Francisco Mangado of Spain has been named an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. The AIA Honorary Fellowship is the international counterpart to the institution's prestigious Fellowship program, recognizing not only the achievements of the foreign architect as an individual, but also elevating before the international public and profession a model architect who has contributed significantly to architecture and society. The other non-U.S. architects who thus join the AIA College of Fellows this year are Zvi Hecker, Fernando Romero, Matthias Sauerbruch, Ben van Berkel, Siegfried Zhiqiang Wu and Ladislav Labus. The investiture ceremony will take place in Denver on 21st June.
