Cristina Díaz & Efrén García, professors at Universität für angewandte Kunst of Viena

Cristina Díaz Moreno and Efrén García Grinda, who head the Madrid architecture firm amid-cero9, succeed Kazuyo Sejima (2015-2019) at the helm of Abteilung Architekturentwurf 1 (Architecture Design 1). They have been given Architecture Design professorship chairs at the Institut für Architektur of the Universität für angewandte Kunst of Vienna. Díaz Moreno and García Grina have been teaching at Princeton University School of Architecture since 2017, having prior to that taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (2015 to 2017). They twice held a chair in the IKA Institite for Art and Architecture in Vienna (school years 2013-2014 and 2018-2019), and once in the SAC StädSchule (2016-2017), Frankfurt StädSchule. For almost a decade they were Diploma Unit Masters at the Architectural Association in London (2009-2018), and before that they taught at the Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (2008) and at EAPM, École d’Architecture de Paris-Malaquais (2003). Previously, for close to fifteen years, they taught in Spain, They were adjunct professors of Project Design at ETSAM, UPM, Madrid; adjunct professors at the European University of Madrid, UEM; professors at the School of Architecture of Alicante Polytechnic; and professors at ESARQ International University of Catalonia, Barcelona.
