AV Monografías 240: Barozzi Veiga
Founded in 2004 by Fabrizio Barozzi (Rovereto, Italy, 1976) and Alberto Veiga (Santiago de Compostela, 1973), the Barcelona-based studio Barozzi Veiga has become one of the most prominent Spanish firms on the international scene. Since then, along with teaching and research, they have worked on public and private projects, focussing on cultural, civic, and education buildings. The latest issue of AV Monographs presents eighteen works and projects – preceded by an introductory essay by Philip Ursprung – that track the evolution of a language marked by serene and bold geometries, control of scale and light, and a determination to combine the autonomy of the building’s form with the specifics of context, and that the authors have come to call ‘Sentimental monumentality.’
