Four finalists for ArtA cultural center in Arnhem (Netherlands)

BIG, Kengo Kuma, NL Architects, and SO-IL are the four firms vying for the commission to build the ArtA cultural center in Arnhem, capital of the Dutch province of Gelderland. Out of over forty competition entries, the jury selected five finalists, but the office of Rem Koolhaas decided to withdraw. Part of a larger plan to regenerate the area and connect the banks of the Rhine to the Rijnboog district, the new cultural facility will bring together a museum and a film center. A winner will be named this spring.
