Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron and Grimshaw shortlisted in Melbourne

Zaha Hadid with BVN Architecutre, Herzog & de Meuron with Hassell, Nicholas Grimshaw with John Wardle Architects, and three Melbourne practices going solo – Ashton Raggatt McDougall, NH Architecture and a team formed by Eduardo Velasquez, Manuel Pineda and Santiago Medina – make up the shortlist in the bid to redesign Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station, the main volume of which is a famous historic building raised in 1910, and which is currently one of the major railway hubs of the southern Australian state of Victoria. The competition organization has published all six designs in its website, inviting the public to participate in choosing a winner. Voting is open until 5 August and the outcome will be announced three days later.
