Milan’s International Furniture Fair last week showcased designs by some of the world’s leading architects. They include a bench by Zaha Hadid for the urban furniture firm Lab23, manufactured with resin and a quartz composite and inspired by the cracks formed in glaciers, and lamps she created for Slampa, made of 50 sheets of translucent plastic whose subtle differences make for a very dynamic object. The fair also presented rubber boots designed by Jean Nouvel for Ruco Line and a series of polycarbonate chairs, inspired by the designer’s own family, for Kartell.
