Hyde Park Music Pavilion competition winners

The Hyde Park Music Pavilion (HPMP) ideas competition organized by Arquideas for architecture students and young architects garnered 94 entries from 29 countries. The object was to design a music-related cultural space within Hyde Park, one of London’s largest expanses of green. It had to include auditions facilities, a restaurant/café, a concert information point, an exhibitions zone, a small performance venue, and restrooms. The jury – among whose members were John Enright, Ana D’Apuzzo, Alejandro Beals, Loreto Lyon, Soffia Botteri, Patricio Connell, and Paulina Peña, winner of another Arquideas competition, for VOF Norway –  gave first prize to Juan Verdaguer, Ismael Preti, and Carlos Brizuela of the National University of La Plata (Argentina); second prize to Johnny Jeong Yeob Kim and Dominik Reisach of the Technical University of Munich (Germany); and third prize to Luis Ruiz Andrés and Juan Pérez García of the University of Valladolid. There were five mentions: Luciano Muratore, Victoria Lappas, Rodrigo Casas Dubois, and Felipe García Hervás of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina); Alfonso García of the University of Navarra (Colombia); Laco Fulquet, Matías Raul Falero, Iván Elías Barczuk, and Josias Grade of the Catholic University of Santa Fe (Argentina); Juan Bechini of the School of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning in Buenos Aires (Argentina); and Endre Dér and Daniel Decsi of VOID (Hungary).
