Directed by Jesús María Susperregui Virto, Idom’s project follows a high specialization, teaching and research hospital model, focused on patient care. With 35,000 m2 dedicated to healthcare purposes, the compact building is designed to minimize distances and maximize sunlight, with a flexible form to permit future extensions and improve construction economy. Vertical communications are promoted as a quick and easy approach to the patient, and through a grand central atrium and a few walkways, direct communication and spatial relation between the different areas is ensured.
