Foster + Partners, DJI’s new HQ in Shenzhen (China)
Currently under construction, the headquarters of the robotics firm DJI rises in the Chinese city of Shenzhen in the form of twin towers connected by a suspension bridge to display its latest drone technology. Combining glass and steel, the cantilevered volumes contain flexible column-less spaces for research-and-development laboratorios, with four-height spaces where drones can fly. Besides offices, the complex includes public areas for exhibitions, an auditorium for launching new products, and a wide variety of facilities for staff use, from gyms to robot fighting rings.
