Atelier Urban Face, kiosks in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park

The Canadian firm Atelier Urban Face has installed three kiosks close to Beaver Lake, within Mount Royal Park, a work of the landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and a favorite getaway enclave for Montreal families.

With their two end walls glazed, the huts respectfully integrate themselves into the landscape, tilted as if pushed by the wind. Each measuring 45 square meters, they present steel structures raised with different inclinations, and contain a classroom, a ticket office, and storage spaces. The zinc tiles cladding the roofs and the other facades are laid in such a way that they intensify the visual difference between angles, creating a play of light and movement.
